The Football Career of Khris Francis

Khris Francis is a native of Durham, N.C. He spent most of his early life playing football, even as young as his Pop Warner days. His love of football, the preparation, and the training is what led Khris to become a personal trainer. Now, he aims to help people of all backgrounds reach their health and fitness goals, no matter what they are.

Hillside High School was home for Khris. He was a four-year varsity player, which included a N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A state championship in 2010.

A member of the Class of 2013, Khris was ranked the No. 18 running back in the country by 247Sports.com. He rushed for 2,100 yards and 27 touchdowns on 251 carries as a senior at Hillside. He also had 328 receiving yards with five touchdowns. It was his second straight year of 2,000+ rushing yards. As a junior, Khris posted 2,251 rushing yards with 31 touchdowns.

Khris was an All-State Team selection and participated in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas, which puts the top high school seniors in North Carolina up against their peers from South Carolina.

Khris committed to the UNC Tar Heels during his junior year at Hillside. He graduated from high school early and enrolled in UNC in January 2013.

As a true freshman, Khris had 236 rushing yards on 63 carries. He scored his first collegiate touchdown against Virginia and rushed for another against Old Dominion.

Khris had to overcome some adversity during his sophomore season. Against Pittsburgh, Khris tore his ACL, MCL, and meniscus in his right knee. That experience plays a role in Khris’ passion for helping others overcome and prevent injuries as a Certified Personal Trainer.

Khris returned to the field during his junior and senior seasons at UNC, playing in 48 career games for the Tar Heels.

After graduating from UNC, Khris was fortunate to go through the training process for the NFL Draft. He went undrafted, but he landed an opportunity to play professional football in the German Football League. That gave him a chance to continue playing the sport he loved, while also traveling to other countries and experiencing other cultures.

In 2018, Khris played for the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes where he rushed for 784 yards. He returned to Germany in 2019 to play for the Dusseldorf Panthers.
